The Linkylea Festival began in a field in the heart of rural East Lothian in 2006. It was an intimate friendly festival, set up by Bonny Squair, Lee Rollo and a very dedicated team of helpers. Its aim is to raise money for impoverished children and young adults in Gwalior, India.
The Linkylea Trust (named after our festival) is a small charity based in Gwalior, India. The trust cares passionately about helping the disadvantaged and making sure that money raised is used effectively.
Our main focus at the moment is the Sarita School. A school which provides education for the most dis-advantaged and poor children in the Lashkar slums of Gwalior. The Trust has also set up a volunteer base – “the Pukka Centre” which provides secure accommodation for volunteers so they can undertake outreach work in various worthy projects across the city.
